FourFour Rules To Live By That Will Explode Your Business

My Grandfather gave me four rules to live by that have played a huge role in my success. Every time I have implemented these four rules, success has followed.  In fact, I believe you would be hard pressed to show me an example of where these four rules have been used where success and promotion did not follow.

In today's video, I discuss the four rules to live by and how they play a major role in your network marketing success.

Lessons Learned On the farm

I was very fortunate to have two great men as role models and grandfathers.  Both were well respected in their communities, and they both had unique gifts and talents.  I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with both, and I learned many lessons from both.  One such lesson is the one I'm about to share with you that has been very beneficial to me in all aspects of my life.  My grandfather, Johnny Morrison, lived on a 121-acre farm.  He was very funny, witty, talented, and well traveled.  He had a lot of experience in life, and I learned a lot of lessons from him on that 121 acres.

One such lesson is the one I'm about to share with you that has been very beneficial to me in all aspects of my life.  My grandfather, Johnny Morrison, lived on a 121-acre farm in a small rural community.  He was very funny, witty, talented, and well traveled.  He had a lot of experience in life, and I learned a lot of lessons from him on those 121 acres.  One day he said, “Son, there are 4 rules to live by, and if you live by these 4 rules, success will follow you wherever you decide to go or whatever you decide to do.”  As you can imagine I wanted to know what the four rules were, so here they are.

So What Are The Four Rules To Live By?

He said, “if you will just show up, pay attention, tell the truth, and give your very best effort, everything else will take care of itself.”

Now let's break the four rules to live by down, let me explain what is meant by each, and how they apply to your network marketing business.

 1.  Show Up
Four Rules To Live By-Show Up
There is a famous Woody Allen quote that says, “80% of success is showing up.”Showing up can mean several things.  Take action.  Don't hesitate, and go for it.It also means to be on time!  Never be late.  In fact, always be early and eager to get started.  This shows people you respect their time and goes a long way in setting you apart from the competition.

2.  Pay Attention

What my grandfather meant by this was two-fold and very important in network marketing.  First, you can learn a lot about someone or somethingFour Rules To Live By-Pay Attention just by keeping your mouth shut and your eyes open.  Watch and listen and then you can learn something.  You can find out what is important to someone by doing this and then show them how you can help them do it.

Next, watch the people that are successful and are already where you want to be.  This is why attending events is so important.  All of the top earners, the superstars, the people that are successful and have the skills necessary to be successful are at the events.  Thus, a lot can be learned from them just by showing up and paying attention.

3.  Tell The Truth Four Rules To Live By-Tell The Truth

This rule kind of speaks for itself and really doesn't need explaining.  With that being said, my grandfather didn't believe in “white lies” or stretching the truth.  There was no gray area.  There was the truth and the truth built trust, and trust builds loyalty.  He also always told me, “do what you said you would do.”  In other words, keep your word.

In network marketing, so many times people stretch the truth when it comes to income and earnings.  They've been told to fake it until you make it.  I say faith it until you make it.  There is no need to lie, exaggerate, or stretch the truth about anything.  Once you lie or exaggerate things like income, earnings, etc. it is hard to earn someone's respect and trust again.  This mantra needs to start from the very top as well.  If your company's founders and leaders don't have this moral compass, the company will not be around very long.

4.  Give Your Very Best Effort

Four Rules To Live By-Best EffortMy grandfather always told me, “When you go the extra mile there is not near as much traffic.”  Truer words have never been spoken.  Most people in today's day and age or doing just enough to get by.  They work just hard enough to keep from getting fired, and their employers are paying them just enough to keep them from quitting.

This is why I believe network marketing is about to go mainstream.  The new economy is rapidly moving into a performance based economy.  In other words, you are going to get paid on your production.  With this being said, network marketing will become a more feasible way for people that don't mind working to actually work for themselves and call the shots.

The entrepreneur is the one that does not mind the work.  They don't mind paying their dues so to speak.  As a matter of fact, they expect to have to put in the work and learn the skills.  The ones that live by and apply the four rules to live by during the process will be the ones that get noticed and build successful businesses in my opinion.
